I had a realization today that I am the worst baby book documenter EVER! I feel like i totally failed the first year of parenting, in terms of the baby book. I wanted to complete Miss A's book before Graham arrives, so I thought I will do it all today. Oh My was it it difficult. The first 4 months of her life are loosely documented. Of course I saved everything and have a few boxes of trinkets, documents, etc..but I wanted it all to be in one place, in one book. I have a few more pages to go, but shesh...is it hard. I know they say that your first child gets everything documented and then the more children you have the less that gets documented, but in this case, Graham is totally making out better. Thank goodness I started to blog..that makes me feel a little bit better, but even then..yikes! I called my best friend and asked her to tell me she was also the worst documenter of the baby book and luckily for me great friends think alike and we are 2 peas in a pod. She reminded me that yes, baby books are nice, and documenting is good, but in the big scheme of things what matters is that Ashtyn feels loved everyday, and she does. She then said a few more nice things and sent me on my way..I love friends. Jeremy also said the same thing. I needed a lot of reassurance today..ha! So with all of this being said I am going to post about Ashtyn's first birthday. Yes, she is 16 months, yes, it is totally out of order..but I figure at this point better late than never.
Also, am I the only girl who did not read Anne of Green Gables? I called my sister and asked her if she read it, she said no, but we are from the same kin, so does that even count? Anyways I am reading it now. I need to be prepared for when Miss A is ready to read it. Right? I don't want to be the mom who doesn't know the classics ( although I am totally that mom). Jeremy is reading The adventure of Robin Hood in preparation for Graham. ( he, however loves to read and has actually read it before, this time is just for fun). Are we nerdy? Yes. But will we be prepared? Yes.
I just realized this whole post was about books..ha!
I couldn't not add a picture...
By the way...teddy bears are so out and tooth brushes are so in!
