Daily Schedule

Ashtyn Layne's Schedule:

So this post is going to be pretty boring and is mainly for my own records and to help with baby #2 and hopefully #3 and #4 and #5....although Jeremy says no..but that's a whole other post...ha! I am generally not that scheduled of a person, although I want to be and try to be...that is just not who we are. When Ashtyn was first born we just kind of let things go as they needed and it worked okay, but as she got older I realized we both needed a schedule and it has really worked. I am actually loving my schedule, although let me make it clear that I am not tied down to it. I am hoping with Graham we can start the schedule a little earlier and create a routine that works for everyone. We started Ashtyn around 1 year, maybe a little sooner.

Ashtyn wakes up anywhere from 6:00 am to 7:30 am...usually on the earlier side ( I have started getting up at 6 and getting things ready for the day...I have to add this cause I am so proud of myself, it doesn't happen everyday).

I give Ashtyn a few minutes to play in her crib and when I can hear her talking, I go in and get her. Just recently she started waking up and playing on her own. I prayed for this for so long.... She would wake up screaming and crying and it just made me so sad...whew...those days seem to be over. I give her bottle( yes we have not moved on to the sippy cup yet) and we watch a video together until about 7:30.

I then make her breakfast ( eggs and fruit) and she plays independently or in the kitchen by me until about 8:10.

We listen to worship music/ mickey mouse clubhouse and eat breakfast for about 20-30 mins.

We then play some more( blocks, outside, walks, books, bath) and she goes down for her morning nap around 10:00. No bottle, no rocking....just plays in her crib until she falls asleep.

Miss A usually wakes up around 11:15-11:30 and then plays until lunch time at 12:30.

After lunch she takes her next nap around 2:00 and sleeps until about 4:00.

When she wakes up Jeremy and I are home form work and we eat dinner around 5:30.

Bath time, playtime and anything really until 8:00 and then its off to bed. Sometimes we will start bath time at 7:30 and be ready to sleep by 8:00.

Now this is a very loose schedule. And on Sunday's forget about it! I do like our little schedule, it works for us and makes me feel good...ha! I like knowing what is to come..Is this how scheduled people have always felt....ha! I do like being flexible too. There are some days when Ashtyn just really isn't tired and some days where she will sleep all day.

Side note: It s 4:40 and Miss A just woke up form her nap...so see, flexibility.

Now moving on to fun things:

I just though this picture was so funny...Clearly Miss A was not feeling the fork this morning. She held it in her hands, but I think used it maybe once...ha!

After breakfast this morning Miss A and I went on a walk with our babies. It was so sweet watching her take care of her little baby doll. This is the first time she has really paid attention and given care to her babies. She is going to be such a good big sister!

A few times the baby fell out of the stroller and she picked her up and rocked her and kissed her....Melt my heart!

We also watered our flowers and Miss A definitely has a green thumb! She loved running her hands under the water and saying/signing rain. LOVE!
