So I decided to create a blog to document Ashtyn's little life. This is such an awesome time, and I don't want to miss anything. It is crazy from her first sneeze to her first trip to Target, I want to capture and remember it all. Let me preface this with I am not a good writer and actually a little nervous about the idea of blogging. I figure I won't tell anyone I am doing this, therefor I have no one to impress. This is simply for me and someday Ashtyn to read. I might tell Jeremy? Ha Ha. So Ashtyn is now two weeks old. I am starting a little late, but better late than never. I am going to start documenting week by week. We will see how far I get. I have great intentions, but let's be serious with a newborn at home it is hard to find time to write anything.

Okay so Ashtyn's first week:
You are with out a doubt the most beautiful baby girl I have ever seen. I know I sound bias, but please believe me when I say this. Everyone has commented on how sweet and beautiful you are. Even strangers! Ha Ha. I feel so blessed. You came out with a ton of hair, which was a huge surprise to everyone. We were expecting you to be bald, since Jeremy and I both didn't really have hair! I had bought so many bows and flowers to put in your hair to camouflage the baldness, but no need. Although, we do love bows! We were in the hospital for awhile. I went in for an induction on Saturday January 8th and we left on Wednesday January 12th. Our first night home was so much fun. My mom spent the night and you were so comfortable in your new house. It took awhile for you to get the hang of sleeping in the night. You were up almost every 2 hours and we were exhausted! So many visitors came by and a lot of love was shared. We had dinners and presents almost every night. We are very blessed! This week we took newborn pictures in a field and they went so well. The photographer loved you so much that she offered to come back and take more pictures for free! This was exciting and see, its not just me who thinks you are beautiful! Ha Ha. We had your first doctors appointment and I only cried once! You were perfect! The doctor actually said, "She is amazing! So alert for a 5 day old baby." I was so proud. As the week came to an end, it was crazy, but so much fun and went so fast.

Ashtyn's Second Week:
So you are now 2 weeks old and looking so big already! I hate it! You lost your umbilical cord this week, so we were able to give you a big girl bath. I am not quite sure if you liked it or not. You didn't cry, but weren't too happy. Either way, I thought you were perfect! We had our first church outing. We took you to Ontario Nazarene and then over to Bethany Baptist. You were a hit! Mommy and daddy had their first night away. We went and played games at the church for an hour and a half...It seemed like forever. Although, it was nice to get away and spend some time alone with daddy, I missed you like crazy! You have started to sleep a little better. We were able to get 4 straight hours of sleep. I woke up and thought I had slept for 12 hours.
