Ashtyn's First Easter

We had such a great weekend celebrating Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is such an amazing gift God gave us. Sometimes it is hard for me to fathom. I love Jesus and can't wait for Ashtyn to understand the true meaning of this holiday too!

On Saturday we celebrated Easter with Jeremy's side of the family. We started with brunch at his parent's house and then opened Easter baskets and had a mini Easter egg hunt. Judi and Tom (Jeremy's Parents) really spoil us! We all got baskets with fun little goodies....they are so thoughtful. Her house is also decorated just beautifully! It was a perfect way to spend Saturday morning. Then we drove up to Jeremy's Aunt Jenni's house. There we celebrated with the rest of the family....grandma, cousins, aunts, uncles.....We ate our favorite BBQ restaurant and had a great time talking and hanging out with each other. We don't get see them often enough, so when we are together it is great. I LOVE Jeremy's family! Here are a few pictures from the day....

Aunt Paula and Ashtyn..She held Ashtyn all day and it was wonderful!

Aunt Jenni and all the kids. She bought them little Easter goodies and they loved them.

Ashtyn loves her Papa Tom! He walked her around during the Easter egg hunt.
I didn't get any pictures of Ashtyn opening her basket at Grandma Judi's and Papa Toms...BOO! You can imagine it was a beautiful basket!

Sunday morning we woke up early and Ashtyn opened her basket. Jeremy had to be off early for church because he was preaching 3 services. Ashtyn and I stayed home and got ready and then headed over to the 11:00 service. My aunt and cousin met us there and it was so nice to spend Easter morning with them.
Ash and her Easter basket...She looks so grown up....! Boo!

Good morning Easter Bunny!

Jeremy and I exchanged Easter baskets and he is soooo thoughtful! I loved my basket form him and Ashtyn..I hope he liked his! The Easter bunny had brought Ashtyn a little blanket and boy does she love it. I put her down for a nap with it and she fell asleep within 3 minutes! That is record breaking in this house. It is usually a fight. Here are some pictures of us with our baskets and Ashytn napping.
Jeremy opening his basket and Ashtyn watching her daddy!

I love my basket and feel so spoiled! jeremy and Ashtyn really know how to take care of me!

The magic blanket.....Ha!

After chrch we haeded over to my Aunt Barbara's house. I LOVE hanging out with family and I have the best!Ashtyn was so spoiled with love and gifts at my aunts, I just kept thinking we are so blessed! We ate lunch and had a great time talking. It was the babies first little Easter egg hunt and Ashtyn found the $1.00 egg. We then had the annual adult Easter egg hunt ( Men against Women). And of course the WOMEN WON!!!! This is our 3rd year in a row. It was hilarious and pretty aggressive, but sooo much fun!
Ash and I during the baby egg hunt..If you look closely she is holding her own bag!

Girls rule and boys drool....3 time champions! You can't see all our war wounds..but I think there were 3 bruises, 1 cut, a broken topsy turvy, and a sore wrist!

My mom and sister got Ashtyn the cutest Easter baskets. We had such a fun time exchange presents with the, I am a little nervous because it looked a little like Christmas...HA! I can only imagine what Christmas will actually be like. But don't get me wrong we are soo grateful!

Opening her basket

I think I might be more excited than Ashtyn...Ha!

She loved her basket....

My mom drove with us on the way home because Ashtyn would noy stop crying. My Aunt and Uncle live about one hour away and yup Ashtyn cried the whole way home! We finally had to pull off the freeway in Pasadena and take her out of her car seat to calm her down. As soon as Jeremy pulled her out she stopped. It was cold and she was sooo sweaty from crying so hard. We eventually had to put her back in the car. This is no easy feat she already arches her back hen you put her in the car seat. She has been doing this since she was 2 months...people are amazed when they see her do this....me not so much! It would be my child who figured out the arch back thing so early! Ha! Anyways, I was completely prepared to camp on the side of the road with Ashtyn overnight...ha! My poor mom...she was a trooper!

I thought I would post a happy picture of my mom and Ash...this was not the ride home! Ha!

Lastly, I had to write about Ashtyn's Easter dress. I had bought a sweet little monogrammed outfit for Ashtyn to wear on Easter Sunday ( she wore it on Saturday instead), but Jeremy insisted that Ashtyn have an Easter dress. He said every little girl should have an Easter dress. So Jeremy and I went to Gymboree and he picked out her little dress. Can I just say Gymboree is my favorite store!!! I wish it wasn't so pricey! Anyways, Jeremy is an amazing father! So hands on! And I just adore her little dress, as does Ashtyn. When I put it on her so kept smiling and talking....my little fashionista!
We all matched this Easter. I figured I should do it while they all let me, cause I know someday it just won't be cool. Ha!
