Today Miss A had to do blood work for the first time. She was supposed to have it done when she turned one, but I have been putting off (as you can see, she is now 17 months). I hate giving blood...I mean like serious tears and panic attacks, so I could only imagine what it would be like for her. Jer took off work early so we could all go. Um..She was AMAZING! I was a wreck...I couldn't stop crying, ha! The nurse suggested that I sit outside so that Ashtyn wouldn't sense my anxiety...yeah embarrassing and I was on my way out anyways. I could hear her from outside the door and all she said was, "no", once. That was it! She was/is such a trooper. I was/am so proud. We later took her to ice cream for her first Handel's Ice Cream cone. She loved it! I love summer days....of course without giving blood...
She would not bend her arm...She kept it straight for about 10 minutes...what a sweetie! |
I found the sticker! |
We of course ( and by we, I mean I) felt the need to buy Miss A a present for doing so well today at the doctor. Dollar Tree it was and one ball and a pack of Minnie stickers later, I was home. She loved her surprises! How could I go wrong with a ball and minnie...She was putting stickers all over everything and we thought she had put one on her face, but we didn't see it and couldn't find it on her clothes or under her clothes, so I thought it had fallen off and gotten swept under the couch? About an hour later I was trying to nap and she was insisting on climbing on my tummy, when I opened my eyes...this is what I saw...ha
Before we left for ice cream, Miss A had to take her baby on a walk...Love love love this girl!
Handel's Ice Cream
So excited for ice cream..She kept squeeling and tightening her fists..ha! |
Hmmm..Dad's ice cream looks good.... |
Sad that ice cream time is over... |
So Daddy gave her the rest of his.... |
I think we will make Wednesday night ice cream a tradition..YEAH! (Jeremy's idea...no really!)
Side note: We watch Tangled like every day. Tonight when it was over Jeremy was dancing to the music and didn't realize Ash was watching him..It was so sweet how she was just staring at him with her little head to the side. When I got his attention he asked her to dance and she walked right over and started dancing along. This might sound crazy...but it I couldn't help but cry. In that moment life was exactly how I had always imagined it...PERFECT!
Side note #2: At Handel's the ice cream girl loved Ashtyn! On Wednesday Nights it is dollar scoop night, so there is literally like 50 or so people in line (no exaggeration). Anyways, I of course had my camera and wanted to document Ash getting her first cone. The girl insisted on helping (so sweet) and offered to take a few pics for us. I could feel everyone in line staring at the back of our heads...ha! I understand, I would probably be doing the same thing if all I wanted was an ice cream and this crazy (us) family was taking time taking pictures...Oh well...we had a blast and so did ice cream girl...and that is really all that matters!
